He looked at me with a glint of humor in his eyes, like a proud father who wanted nothing more than to scoop his wayward child up and laugh but was required to set an example. Why now, Master Yoda? I asked, testing the boundaries-typical stupid-ass Michael Talbot. I will do my best to release you from the binding she has placed upon you. Yeah, probably right about that, I said sheepishly. I think I know exactly why you are in this situation, he said pointing to my mouth. Yeah, I figured he was a she…almost had to be. Just now You figured that out? I thought You knew everything. It has come to My attention that Poena has deemed you her plaything. He sighed deeply but was back to the form of the kindly stranger before I finished my words. No, no–the old man thing is way better! I yelled up. I appear as the person that stands before Me expects Me to be. Would you rather I appear as this? The man surged to over forty feet tall fiery eyes peered down at me and a long, flowing beard almost touched the tips of his sandal-clad toes. I didn’t really picture You like that, I said thoughtfully. In the last flash of a second, the blackness was stripped away and replaced by a source of light equivalent to a noonday sun yet I could see no hint of its origin. ![]() An older man of indeterminable age appeared before me at some point. English it was very easy to read as a U.k reader which is not often the case with some American authors I can tell you having read several works from the U.S, despite that there were one or two names or phrases left me guessing praise god for Google, other than that it is a first class book and a must have for any Horror genre reader. The blackness was complete within and without the tattered walls which should have housed my soul I could not see my hand in front of my face. It is not often you find a book on Zombies or any other horror genre that is any where near believable, but this, well, I went out and bought a machete just to be safe when I first read this, as a stand alone novella it is brilliant, beautifully paced and well written, with a plot that dragged you in kicking and screaming and leaves you at the end begging for more. This is a book that will make you shudder/say "eAn absolute smasher of a book - yeah its short but so worth reading and as with Mark's other books you will not be able to put it down. A truly gory zombie-fest as he struggles to come to terms with his Zombie brain cells enjoying munching his way through the human population whilst his remaining human conciousness tries to avoid a bullet in the brain for his troubles and reason with/protect his zombie body, alongside this is a large dose of humour in the many "sticky" situations through which he must counsell his Zombie side through to survive. Timothy is a rather nasty, cruel human being, who sidelines as a childrens party "guest clown", after coming to grips with a zombie he descends into the hell of being a thoroughly nasty zombie in a clown suit but with the added torture of being a self-aware zombie, fighting for control of his own body. Great twist on the regular zombie novel told from the Zombie's point of view. If you have a phobia about Clowns or you have a phobia about Zombies - this book is your worst nightmare and will leave you needing psychiatric intervention! ![]()
